Simple one line cell phone manners.
As cell phones have become an important part of our life, cell phone etiquettes must be examined and redefined. Now a days NOT picking up the cell phone due to simple reasons is outdated!
1. If busy, don’t switch off . Put on vibrator.
2. If a call comes in during vibrator mode, take it and tell the caller quickly that you will call him/her after say, 10 minutes.
4. Don’t pick up at your convenience. Next time the caller will do the same with you!
5. No reasons (lame excuses) include, I was with my boss, I was in a meeting, Everybody switched off, etc etc.
6. Even if you did not get the call due to some good reason (forgot phone in the office or home or something like that), call back the person as soon as you can. Remember, all phones have a “Missed call” feature now. If you don’t call back, people very well understand that you are a selective caller! That ruins your reputation! Also, 9 out of 10 times, people already know the reason why are you not picking up the phone!
7. Please activate your voice mail service! its very much required now a days!
8. In case of extreme emergency or non availability (Hospitalization, Travel) re-record your voice mail stating clearly the reason and the time when you will be able to call back the person!
9. Remember, everyday life reasons are NO REASONS now for not picking up a cell phone call!
10. People and friends will actually admire you for always picking up the phone.
I will not pick up my cell phone on 1st Jan 2011 so HAPPY 2011 TO ALL
